About

Well hello there, welcome to my kitchen! As for the formalities, my name is Jamie, very nice to meet you. I’m just a typical mother of 4, bi-weekly runner, amateur photographer and travel enthusiast who just so happens to enjoy being in the kitchenΒ as well (which my family doesn’t seem to mind at all). We’re from Arizona, but currently living in New Zealand where it has been a fun challenge learning to adapt and cook with the different ingredients available here. I originally began this blog in hopes of one day creating a family recipe book for my daughter to take to college. I am by no means a professional chef or photographer, but the recipes on this site are tried and true family favorites that I hope you will enjoy as well. Thanks for stopping by!

I just discovered your blog, and I’ll be honest…I haven’t had time to read anything yet…but the pictures look amazing! Usually I read through blogs and am tempted by about 50% of the items I see, but with your blog, I want to eat pretty much everything you’ve posted!

Congrats! I have nominated your blog for a Liebster Award because I think your blog is great!

The ten questions I have for you to answer are:

    What is your favourite pastime?

What thing/s make you the most happy?
What is your favourite genre of film?
    What is/are your favourite food/s and drink/s?
Have you travelled? If so, what was your favourite country?
What makes you feel most proud?
If you were to be an animal, which animal would you be and why?
Can you remember your childhood? If so, what is your favourite childhood memory?
If you were to look into your future, what type of Grandma or Grandpa would you be? i.e. Young at heart, daredevil, laid back, etc

My Rules for the ten nominated blogs:

Thanks for the follow… so glad to have met you through Fiesta Friday too. Just glanced very briefly through your blog, and just love learning about other cultures and traditions. I see you are in NZ, would love to follow your adventures there. I blog on travel too, so I’m sure we’ll have a lot to exchange. For now, I need to finish my co-hosting duties for Fiesta Friday, but will definitely return to your blog and read in more detail. πŸ™‚

Thanks Loretta! Wonderful to have met you too, I look forward to trying some of your delicious recipes and getting to know you as well! Yes, we have been in New Zealand for almost two years and are sad that in a few months we will have to say good bye as we move back to the States (of course there is so much we’re looking forward to at home as well!) . Thanks for pointing out your travel blog, I skimmed over it and was drooling over your Puerto Rico pictures! I do have a separate blog with all of our New Zealand adventures (www.jasonandjamieyoung.blogspot.com). Experiencing a different part of the world has definitely given me wanderlust and I look forward to following along on your travel adventures as well! Have a wonderful day! xx Jamie

Hi Shari! Thanks for taking a minute to introduce yourself, what a small world! New Zealand really is so different, we absolutely love it here, but being away has also made us appreciate and miss so much from home. We’ve been here almost two years and are moving back to Gilbert in June. Definitely mixed emotions! Great to meet you, looking forward to keeping in touch!

Thank you so much! Sorry it’s taken me so long to respond, we’re in the middle of a month long vacation as we make our way back to the states. I’m sitting her in Fiji listening to the waves crash right now and I never want to leave! New Zealand was absolutely amazing, we are sad to see that chapter come to an end, but we have so many wonderful memories of our time there. I hope you do get a chance to visit some day, I’ve got a list a mile long of recommendations πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment!

Very nice, really πŸ™‚ Photos are nice, the blog design is good. Just, In my opinion, when you release the posts….on the front page leave just a short part. It is easy for the reader to see more and to choose what they are interested.
